我曾经一直以为，理智和感性的艺术是相对的，矛盾的。因为我想，如果追求绝对的理智的话，就应当摒弃以来感性传达意义的艺术。例如，绘画，音乐，雕塑，诗歌。就好像，你读到一篇感人的文章，作为一个绝对理智的人，你应当去思考，这里面的人的动机是否完全理性。
但我今天才发现，其实不是的。理性和感性其实并不矛盾。
某种程度来讲，这些都是我们人类认为的，在生物上可以被分类为“Homo Sapien”的生物和其他生物的差别1。我们具有rational thinking capability。Our reason can rise above our desire for pleasure and aversion to pain. (Whether we should try to use it to the fullest extend because we have this capacity [‘can’ implies ‘ought’?] is another question.) We have the ability to think about the future and things that directly in front of us (Object permanence. ADHD的人就缺乏这种能力。他们认为如果一个东西离开了他们的视线，他们就会以为不存在了。这和很多小婴儿和其他动物是一致的。) So we have the capacity to imagine. （想象力其实也是慢慢develop的）So combined, we have the capacity to choice one thing over the other based on reasoning and our prediction of the future. (长线好处vs短线好处) We also have the capacity to communicate abstract and theoretical thoughts。而这些给了我们丰富的联想能力。我们可以从一个抽象的概念想到另一个抽象的概念，想到一个具体的概念（虽然这个例子不好，但是鲁迅先生的“白胳膊”可以放在这里用一下！）。我们尚且不知道其他动物是否有这个能力（”子非鱼 焉知鱼之乐” + “What is it like to be a bat”)，所以我们并不把自己与其他人相比。因此，虽然似乎可以作为“为什么we are superior to animals”的一个论点，我依然认为我们的能力并不是一个relative term，而是一个absolute term。因为即使没有其他动物，我们依然是拥有这种能力的。这并不像是好与坏，痛苦与快乐，是对比出来的（我与地坛！）
这样的话，我追求极致的理性，也喜爱绝对的，毫无现实因素的，充满了幻想的光怪陆离的艺术，也是完全explainable的！
Again, Art is useless. (Oscar Wilde) 艺术可以是完全脱离现实利益的。就像哥特式教堂。不去考虑费用和时间，就是怎么好看，怎么炫技怎么来。是彼时人类最强的技能和想象力的结合！ 是没有意义的艺术。
在艺术中，我很喜欢的风格：正正好好的留白，最佳的概括，experimentation：Avant-Garde。比如：post-modernism, impressionism, Post-Impressionists。比如：Paul Signac, Paul Cezanne, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas。光影和笔触太美了！！
那么关于理智和理性：

1: 其实除了这些之外还有self-awareness。也是慢慢develop的。比如这个实验。
